The Wellness Edge with Sandi Edghill (Ep 6)

Time to Play
Sandi Edghill

In this episode of The Wellness Edge, I'm asking a question that might make you stop and think: When did you stop having fun? Not the kind of fun that comes with a vacation or a planned night out, but the kind that serves absolutely no purpose other than making you happy.

I'm taking a little trip down memory lane to my teenage years, when I would put on full performances to Prince songs without a care in the world. Somewhere between those carefree moments and the responsibilities of adulthood, many of us have forgotten how to simply play.

We'll talk about why play isn't just for children, how our responsibilities can crowd out joy, and why everything we do doesn't need to be productive, purposeful, or turned into a side hustle.

I'm also sharing a reminder I think we all need: You don't have to earn your joy. You deserve to have fun simply because you're human.

Whether it's dancing in your kitchen, trying something new, laughing with friends, or rediscovering something you loved years ago, giving yourself permission to play is part of creating a life that supports your well-being.

Here's what I want you to think about this week: What did you love doing before life became so serious and you became so responsible?

Because the responsibilities may never end, and your to-do list may never be completely checked off. But that doesn't mean your joy has to wait. Sometimes you just need to turn up the music, let your guard down, and have a little fun.
